●Naoko Shinmura

新村直子 Naoko Shinmura

Upon graduating from university, Naoko joined Nikkei McGraw-Hill, Inc. (currently Nikkei Business Publications, Inc.) where she held successive positions as deputy editor of a food business magazine; director of Innovation Japan, an event to advance connections between universities and businesses; and deputy editor of Nikkei Health, a health and beauty magazine for women. Subsequently, she was deputy editor of Harumeku (previously Iki-iki), a magazine for older women, and was responsible for a series of articles and special features on topics related to medicine and health.

In 2019, Naoko collaborated with Kazuko Kikuchi, founder of the Kikuchi Method of Workout, to develop and author a book on the workout which was published by Nikkei Business Publications.
Naoko returned to Keio University to complete a master’s degree at the Graduate School of Health Management in 2020.

Naoko continues to contribute articles to promote health literacy among the general public to Nikkei Group publications, such as Nikkei Business and Nikkei Health, as well as to the online business site, JB Press.

●Hiromi Ikegami

池上洋未 Hiromi Ikegami

Hiromi graduated from Tokyo Medical and Dental University and subsequently worked as a nurse at the University’s hospital. She was later employed by a major life insurance company as an occupational health nurse and was responsible for developing and running health classes, implementing activities to promote behavioral change to prevent lifestyle diseases and offering mental health counseling. Hiromi joined the Kawasaki City Government in 2006 as a public health nurse. As a Kawasaki City employee, she worked together with citizens groups and research institutes to develop programs and venues to promote better health and prevent the need for eldercare. She also launched initiatives, such as training and networking programs, aimed at social capital development. For three years from 2015, Hiromi was involved in activities to construct a regional care system including public awareness initiatives and model projects.

Since her time as an undergraduate student, Hiromi has consistently focused on activities that emphasize prevention, following her commitment “to support people’s happiness through health”.

Hiromi completed a master’s degree at the Graduate School of Health Management, Keio University, in 2020.

●Yuki Tobinaga 

Yuki is a professional translator focusing primarily on Japanese-to-English translation in a range of topics including travel & tourism, business and international development.

Yuki holds a Master of Law & Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University in the United States and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from International Christian University in Japan.

Yuki began her professional career at Nikkei McGraw-Hill, Inc. (currently Nikkei Business Publications, Inc.) in Tokyo, Japan where she was manager of the Corporate Planning Department focusing on the company’s international business relationships.

After graduating from the Fletcher School, she joined KPMG LLP in the United States. She held successive positions at KPMG LLP and KPMG International as Associate Marketing Director for the Japanese Practice and Associate Marketing Director and Knowledge Leader for the Global Technology, Media & Telecommunications Sector.

Yuki currently resides in London, England, UK where she is a freelance translator.
